Why You Should Stock Up On Discount Vitamin Supplements
Before we begin, let's just get this out of the way: discount vitamin supplements are never adequate replacements for well-balanced meals, and this article in no way advocates taking supplements instead of adhering to a sound, nutritional diet.
Healthy food should always be your main source of vitamins, minerals, and essential nutrients since your body will always need much more than what an energy vitamin supplement or two has to offer.
As their name implies, supplements are just that: supplements. They are meant to supplement our food intake and provide us with the vitamins that our diet falls short of providing. By no means should they be used as our primary source of nourishment and nutrition. Despite their limitations, however, there seems no shortage of reasons to stock up on discount vitamin supplements.
Although proper food and drink will forever remain the staple of good health, we seldom meet our recommended daily quota of vitamins just by making an effort to eat right. On any given day, our diet may cause us to come up short on Vitamin A and C while getting more than enough of the B vitamins (or the other way around).
Even if we made a mission out of meeting our daily quota of vitamins, we'd definitely have our work cut out for us. Why? Because, barring processed or packaged goods (which are usually unhealthy), there are usually no nutrition labels on the food we eat that inform us which vitamins these goods contain, much less the amount of vitamins they hold and what percentage of the recommended daily value they supply.
And even when there are labels, they tend to focus on the caloric content of the food in question, as well as the amount of protein, carbohydrates, and fat it has in grams. It's hardly unusual for worries about vitamin content to take the back seat to these other concerns.
This only means that as much as we strive to meet our daily quota of vitamins through proper diet alone, there's a good chance we will still fail in doing so. And really, what's the point of trying when we can just pop an energy vitamin supplement or any other supplement of our choice into our mouths after each meal to achieve our quota without dealing with so many unnecessary complications?
Convenience may not be the only issue here, but economy as well. As anyone who ever tried to eat healthy would know, the foods that are good for us don't come cheap. While the benefits these foods provide are well worth the money spent on them, breaking open the bank just so we could buy enough food to allow us to meet our quota of vitamins every single day borders on insanity. There is a much cheaper yet equally effective alternative: eating right, then buying discount vitamin supplements to get your daily fix.
Keep in mind that it's always better to work smarter, than harder. Again, there's no point in going through so much trouble when there is a more logical solution. Besides, at the prices healthy food is selling for these days, a sound diet isn't something just anyone can afford.
Food, in spite of all it can offer, still has its shortcomings as our premiere source of nutrition. And supplements, despite their shortcomings as a holistic nutrient source, have a lot to offer. The long and short of it is that these two, when taken together, can put us on the fast track to better health and well-being. Reason enough to fill our shopping carts with healthy options in the supermarket, and stock up on discount vitamin supplements while we're there.
